Adwoa Safo backs brother Israel as Kantanka family and church leader
The former Dome Kwabenya MP says she is ready to work with her brother to preserve their late father’s legacy, urging the family to move beyond differences following his death.
Former Dome Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has publicly accepted her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asfo Church, pledging her support as she calls for reconciliation following their father’s death.
In a statement signed on Thursday, October 8, the daughter of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo said she was willing to work with her brother to advance their father’s vision and preserve what he had built.
Her statement referred to differences, misunderstandings and grievances in the immediate aftermath of their father’s death. She did not describe those differences or identify the people involved.
“I have chosen the path of reconciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she said.
Adwoa Safo said she had immense love and respect for Israel and described her acceptance of his leadership as being in keeping with their father’s wishes.
She pledged her full support and said she was ready to work with him in the interests of both the family and the church.
The former MP said responsibility for preserving their father’s legacy belonged to all his children and went beyond the interests of any individual.
She urged the family to rise above its differences and ensure that his ideals continued to inspire future generations.
Her appeal also extended to members of the Kristo Asfo Church, the wider Kantanka family and people associated with her father’s work. She encouraged them to acknowledge and respect the family’s unity.
“Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she said.
Adwoa Safo extended her goodwill to Israel and her other siblings, describing the way forward as a renewed journey of peace and forgiveness.
