Ghana's Digital Address System Reaches 90% National Coverage
The GhanaPostGPS platform now covers 90% of the country, enabling e-commerce delivery, emergency services, and financial inclusion.
The GhanaPostGPS digital address system has achieved 90% national coverage, with over 25 million unique addresses now mapped and geocoded. Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful announced the milestone at the ITU Telecom World event in Geneva.
The system, which assigns a unique digital address to every 5-meter square of land in Ghana, has become integral to e-commerce delivery, ride-hailing services, and emergency response. Financial institutions have also adopted it for KYC compliance and credit assessment.
The remaining 10% coverage gap is primarily in remote areas of the Upper East and Northern regions, where mapping teams are expected to complete their work by the end of Q3.
