NDC opens national executive nominations October 20, sets next-day deadline

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will open nominations for its 2026 national executive elections on Tuesday, October 20, with aspirants required to submit their nominations by the following evening.

The nomination window opens at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, according to a party statement issued on Friday.

The party said payments for nomination forms and filing fees must be made exclusively through its online portal, forms.ghanandc.com. Bank payments and bank drafts will not be accepted.

The statement, signed by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, said the arrangements followed the electoral timetable released on August 5, 2026.

Members seeking national executive positions were encouraged to complete the nomination process within the stipulated period.

Payments through the portal can be made using Mobile Money across all networks, as well as Visa and Mastercard, the party said.

The NDC also set out membership requirements for those participating in the nomination process. Aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must all be members in good standing and have fully paid their membership dues.

Members with outstanding dues were directed to clear their arrears using the USSD code 92025# or through ndc.org.gh/dues.

The requirement therefore applies both to candidates seeking office and to the members formally supporting their nominations.

The announcement did not specify nomination or filing fee amounts, list the positions being contested or give the date of the national executive elections.

The party urged members to observe its rules and maintain orderly conduct throughout the process.

“The Party urges all aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the Party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process,” the statement said.

It also appealed for members’ cooperation to ensure a transparent and peaceful election process.

NDC national executive nominations open at 7:00 a.m. on October 20 and close at 5:00 p.m. on October 21. Fees must be paid online, and aspirants and their backers must have cleared their membership dues.
