NSA gives national service defaulters final chance to register
The National Service Authority says graduates who missed previous enrolment exercises, including eligible Ghanaians who studied abroad, have until 14 August to register for the mandatory 2026/27 national service programme.
Ghana's National Service Authority (NSA) has set August 14 as the deadline for graduates who failed to enrol for national service in previous years to apply for PIN codes for the 2026/27 service year.
The exercise is open to Ghanaian citizens who completed tertiary education but did not undertake the mandatory national service programme when they became eligible.
The authority said the registration also covers private candidates whose qualifications have been certified by accredited tertiary institutions, as well as Ghanaians who obtained their degrees abroad.
Applicants must complete the online registration process and submit all required documents to an NSA office before the deadline.
The authority urged eligible graduates to complete the process on time, describing it as the final opportunity to regularise their participation in the compulsory scheme.
Under Ghana's National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), all Ghanaian citizens who graduate from accredited tertiary institutions are required to undertake national service before entering the workforce or pursuing further opportunities in many sectors.
The NSA said applications received after the deadline would not be considered and encouraged eligible graduates to submit their documents before 14 August.
