Odeneho Kwaku Appiah elected NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, beats Henry Kwabena Kokofu

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah has been elected the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), taking over from Bernard Antwi Boasiako, commonly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah also commonly referred to as COKA, beat Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a former Member of Parliament for Bantama and Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA)

COKA won with 658 votes against Henry Kwabena Kokofu's 269.

"By the grace of God, I am now the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP. I am deeply grateful to the delegates, supporters, and everyone who believed in me. The work begins now—together, let us unite, rebuild, and prepare the NPP for victory in 2028," COKA wrote in a reaction to the election victory.

From Kumasi, Emmanuel Baah reported that delegates from 45 out of 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region took part in the voting at the Jubilee Park.

Owing to unresolved issues within the Adansi Asokwa and Afigya Sekyere East constituencies, delegates from the two constituencies were not part of the elections.
