Planned power cuts to hit parts of Accra for four days
**ECG says parts of Accra will experience daily power cuts from 09:00 to 17:00 as it carries out a four-day maintenance exercise aimed at improving electricity supply reliability.**
Parts of Accra will experience planned power cuts from Monday as the Electricity Company of Ghana carries out maintenance work in the Accra East Region.
The outages will run from 09:00 to 17:00 local time each day from Monday, August 10, to Thursday, August. 13
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says the exercise is intended to improve the reliability of electricity supplies in the affected communities.
Areas affected
On Monday, the outage will affect Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Twumasiwaa Hospital, Ability and surrounding areas.
On Tuesday, customers in Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and nearby communities will be affected.
The Wednesday schedule covers parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-Teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina and Libya Quarters.
On Thursday, the final phase will affect Achimota School and surrounding areas.
ECG has advised customers in the affected areas to plan ahead for the temporary disruption.
The company has apologised for the inconvenience and said the maintenance work is necessary to improve electricity service delivery.
