Mahama tasks four new envoys with winning investment and opening markets
The career diplomats have been assigned to Angola, Qatar, Israel and a permanent representative posting described as being in Switzerland. The president wants their work to deliver investment, jobs and wider access to international markets.
President John Dramani Mahama has tasked four newly commissioned Ghanaian envoys with attracting investment and expanding access to international markets, saying their diplomatic work should deliver economic benefits and help create jobs.
At their commissioning on Friday, October 16 2026, the president urged the career diplomats to advance Ghana’s interests through strategic partnerships
and economic diplomacy.
The appointments cover ambassador-designate roles in Angola, Qatar and Israel, alongside a permanent representative-designate posting described in the announcement as being to Switzerland.
Nana Antwiwaa Dodoo has been appointed ambassador-designate to Angola, Louis Kwame Obeng to Qatar and Evelyn Korantemaa Ofosu-Amable to Israel. Jedidiah Reuben Adogla was named permanent representative-designate to Switzerland.
Mr Mahama urged the envoys to ensure that Ghana’s international engagements produced tangible benefits while strengthening the country’s standing abroad.
His instructions placed investment mobilisation, stronger economic partnerships and access to overseas markets at the centre of their assignments.
The four appointees were described as career diplomats with more than 27 years of experience.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, Ms Dodoo thanked the president for their appointments and pledged their commitment to carrying out the responsibilities assigned to them.
