Residents of Amasaman Obeyeyie have taken to the streets to demand urgent government action over what they describe as the worsening state of roads in their community.
Scores of protesters gathered on Monday, accusing authorities of neglecting the area for years as roads continue to deteriorate, making movement increasingly difficult for residents, commuters and businesses.
Demonstrators say large sections of the road network have become riddled with potholes and are almost impassable, particularly during the rainy season, disrupting transport and increasing travel times.
They argue that the poor road conditions are affecting access to essential services, including healthcare and education, while also hurting local businesses that rely on reliable transport.
"We have been living with these roads for years, and the situation keeps getting worse," one protester said. "We are calling on the government to act before conditions
deteriorate further."
Residents say repeated appeals for repairs have yielded little progress, leaving the community struggling with unsafe and unreliable roads.
The protesters are urging the government and relevant authorities to prioritise the rehabilitation of the road network, warning that continued delays will deepen economic hardship and further isolate the community.
There has been no immediate response from the authorities to the residents' demands.
